Human beings are the most advanced and diverse species on the planet. We are all immensely different from one another but what binds us together is the most beautiful feeling known to humanity - love. It's that beautiful thing that poets write about and musicians sing about. it cannot be touched, but felt. But if love is universal, why should it have boundaries? To love someone isn't a choice, it's human and no one deserves to be judged or discriminated against for loving someone.
Considering the fact that the globe is abundantly populated with individuals who are different from one another in so many aspects, it is irrational to expect everyone to look, act, and think in the same manner as you. Life is short and we only live once. We deserve the rights to exist freely. However, the members of the LGBT+ community face discrimination, bullying, and even violence, on a daily basis, for simply existing. It is essential to understand that the LGBT+ community takes away anything from heterosexual relationships. They simply want the freedom to exist freely, to love freely, and express their opinion. Why should they be denied the rights to experience the cloud-9 feeling called 'love'?
A common misconception is that maturity is synonymous to normalisation. But normalisation, in simple words, is bland and boring. Moreover, it is restricting and confining. This idea of normalisation being equal to growth and maturity is hardwired into our minds, thereby preventing us from accepting those around us. To accept someone for who they are isn't easy, given that we're all very different from one another and we have been instructed of a set of norms since a very young age, but it is the right thing to do. Live and let live.
Love is a beautiful feeling to have boundaries based on colour of skin, gender, sexual orientation, etcetera. When there is so much love to give, why spread hate? Treat people with kindness; it'll be worth it.
